About Childcare
Childcare Support and Education Organisation (Childcare) is a women-led NGO transforming the lives of vulnerable children, youth, and women in rural communities of Uganda. Since 2014, we have supported over 1,200 children from nursery through university, including school dropouts, child mothers, OVCs, and children from low-income families, ensuring they gain real access to education, health, and pathways to stable livelihoods.
Registered both in Uganda and the United States (501(c)(3)), we bridge gaps for low-income families with full financial accountability. Our five years of audited financials and transparent reporting have earned us partnerships with organisations like the Rotary Club of Greater Van Nuys, which funded our expansion into WaSH programs in 2021.
Through this partnership, we built 2 gender-segregated latrines and 1 water point across 3 rural schools, reducing girls' absenteeism by 40%.
Our Programs

Child Support & Rural Schools Improvement Program
We support children from nursery through university, including school dropouts, child mothers, OVCs, and children from low-income families, while improving the rural school facilities that keep them learning.
Safe Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WaSH) for Rural Schools
Our water and sanitation work has delivered gender-segregated latrines and clean water points to rural schools, cutting girls' absenteeism by 40% and improving health for entire communities.
Youth & Women Skills Development & Livelihoods Program
Through vocational training and mentorship, we equip youth and young mothers with practical skills and pathways to stable income, turning alumni into employed teachers, health workers, and tradespeople.
