Our Impact to Uganda's Rural Communities
About Childcare
Childcare Support and Education Organization (Childcare) is a women‑led NGO transforming the lives of vulnerable children, youth, and women in rural communities of Uganda. Registered both in Uganda and the United States, we exist to bridge gaps for low‑income families ensuring children and youth from disadvantaged backgrounds, school dropouts, child mothers, and OVCs gain real access to education, health and pathways to stable livelihoods.
Our USA Operations Office in Van Nuys, California strengthens this mission by coordinating partnerships, fundraising, and donor engagement with financial accountability ensuring that community‑led solutions in Uganda remain sustainable and impactful.
Through community partnerships, our Uganda country office works closely with district community development officers to identify local community schools, such as Destiny Primary and Destiny Secondary Schools in Kazo District, where our support has brought visible and lasting change.
Why Women and Children?
Our logo a woman holding a child captures the heart of our work. In rural communities, women are often the primary caregivers and the strongest influence in a child’s life. When women are supported, families grow stronger. When children are nurtured, they are more likely to stay in school, thrive in health, and break cycles of poverty. By focusing on women and children, we strengthen families today and help communities build a more resilient future.

Rural schools’ improvement & child support program
Our Rural schools’ improvement & child support Program is all about giving rural children, kids from low-income families, and communities in need the tools they need to succeed. We focus on three main areas: Getting every child into school, providing young people with skills they can use for life, and making sure schools and communities have clean water and good sanitation.

Clean water and Toilets projects
Our Sanitation & Hygiene Program works to ensure children and their communities have access to safe drinking water and clean, usable sanitation facilities. We focus primarily on rural schools, where many children spend most of their day, yet basic water and sanitation infrastructure is often missing, damaged, or outdated.
Through this program, we bring clean water closer to schools and communities by improving water access points. We also renovate broken pit latrines and upgrade neglected school kitchens to create safer and more functional learning environments.
