Education

OVCs & Children from Low income families not going to School

The Problem we are solving

In rural communities, many children face barriers to education due to financial constraints, hailing from impoverished backgrounds, some orphaned, and others from low-income families. Youth drop out of school to support their families and never go back. And entire school systems are understaffed, failing to provide adequate education to the children they serve.

The Solution we created

Through your sponsorship, you help remove the barriers that stop children from getting a good education. Our Rural Child Education and Empowerment Program aims to break these barriers, offering essential support through the Sponsor a Child Rural Educational Support Initiative. Girls and children from poor families who weren’t attending school are now enrolled, and vulnerable children who used to look after cattle are now in school.

Health

Sanitation & Safe Drinking Water from Springs

The Problem we are solving

School children travel close to 2 miles to find water for cleaning, washing, and cooking there meals. They reach school too tired. The water also needs to be boiled first but since they cant access the kitchen all the time, they end up taking it as it is because that is the mediate option the can afford.

Secondly there pit-latrines are not hygienic & modernized. They also hold bad odour. Some little kids waste them on top and there is No water to clean them, some other little ones end up going there barefoot.

The Solution we created

We organized local fundraising from our local church, community and school. However funds were too little. We got a Grant from Rotary Club of Greater Van Nuys to help facilitate construction of underground water well and bring safe drinking water to school.

However the issue of Hygiene (children with barefoot) and safe clean toilets was left un-attended to.
