- Projects seeking funding
Some of the most important work we do starts with a need we can’t meet alone. At Childcare Support & Education Organization, we’ve listened closely to the communities we serve, district authorities, school leaders, youth, mothers, and entire families.
This page shares a few of the projects we’re hoping to move forward with, as soon as the resources allow.
We are currently seeking funding to:
- Finish classrooms, toilet blocks, and dining spaces at our partner schools
- Repair or build water systems that serve schools and nearby homes
- Extend vocational training for school dropouts and young mothers
- Provide startup kits for women beginning small enterprises
- Support school sponsorships for children who can’t afford to stay in class
Rural School Hygiene, Sanitation, and Infrastructure Improvement Initiative
Below is our
CONCEPT PAPER
In many rural schools, the conditions children learn in are difficult aging pit latrines, broken handwashing stations, overcrowded classrooms, and makeshift kitchens that aren’t safe or clean.
This project is focused on helping improve the basic where many vulnerable children in Kanoni and surrounding areas go to school. It’s a step toward creating an environment where students can focus, feel safe, and grow with confidence.
What this project includes:
- Renovating old or broken pit latrines that are no longer safe for use
- Building separate toilets for girls and boys, with better privacy and safety
- Installing handwashing stations near all latrines and kitchen areas
- Improving or rebuilding school kitchens to meet health and safety standards
- Repairing classrooms and learning spaces that are too damaged or overcrowded
- Creating a safe and functional dining hall space that can also serve for exams and community gatherings

2025: Education & Skills Program for Vulnerable Children and Youth
Below is our
CONCEPT PAPER
In many parts of rural Uganda, children and youth are forced to leave school too early. Some lose parents and can’t afford school fees. Others, especially girls, become young mothers with no path back to education. Many simply grow up in families that can’t meet the basics so school becomes of the background they came from.
This program is about giving those children and young people a second chance in school, in life, and in the skills they need to stand on their own feet. It combines education support with life skills and vocational training, meeting each child or youth where they are.
We focus on orphans, school dropouts, child mothers, and children from households affected by poverty, HIV/AIDS, or family instability.
- Education sponsorships for children at risk of dropping out covering school fees, uniforms, shoes, and basic materials
- Re-entry support for child mothers and youth who want to return to school or training
- Vocational training in tailoring, hairdressing, baking, shoe making, agribusiness, and small trades
- Mentorship and life skills sessions, including confidence-building, career guidance, and resilience support
- Psychosocial care, especially for children facing trauma or instability at home
